How to keep your computer safe from online threats?

Posted on 05:35 by Unknown
The online world is full of both facilities and threats. Nowadays, a lot of users are getting virus infections in their computer while browsing the World Wide Web. A computer virus first enter in your PC silently, attach with a file, and then spreads its copies internally in the system files & Registry entries. In this write up, we will discuss the tips to keep your computer safe from the online threats. You can use them to secure your computer, important data, and information stored in it.

Security Applications First
You should install an antivirus with real-time protection and an antispyware in your computer. If you can opt for the paid antivirus then options are Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, Panda, Bitdefender, Webroot, etc. Whereas the good free antivirus tools are AVG Antivirus, Avira Antivir, and Microsoft Security Essentials.

You need antispyware to scan your computer for the spyware, adware, Trojan Horses, worm, and other malicious elements. Free and recommended antispyware solutions are Malwarebytes Antimwalware, SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition, Spybot S&D, and Windows Defender. These free tools will not provide the real-time protection but remove all of the hidden & stuck infections, which are even not detected by antivirus.

Are you facing any issue in installing antispyware or antivirus? Do you have any other problem with your security applications? Then get online Antivirus Support from the Microsoft Certified Technicians.

Stay up-to-date
You should update your Operating System, Web browser, and antivirus regularly. Keep your Windows OS and antivirus to get automatic updates from their respective servers. Make sure to install the upgraded versions of Web browsers. Also, you should renew your license of antivirus to the latest upgraded version available.

Remember the upgraded version of any software will have the latest fixes and security patches as compared to its outdated version. Also, the Windows Updates provides the latest security patches to its Windows OS to make it more secure from online threats.

Go for online technical support if you face any problem in installing updates for above products.

Don’t open unknown emails
If you are checking the emails in a client application like Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Eudora, Thunderbird, IncrediMail, etc. then make sure not to open the emails from unknown users.

If you’re browsing Webmail such as Gmail, Hotmail, AOL Email, Yahoo Mail etc. then don’t open the attachments of emails sent from unknown persons.

Make sure to mark as junk or spam those emails which are not sent by known users. This will let your email client to decide which emails are safe and which are unsecure.

Use the right Web browser
Make sure to use the right Web browser with its upgraded version. Google Chrome specifies the unprotected Websites with a banner before opening it. You can also install the extensions like McAfee SiteAdvisor, Web of Trust (WOT), AVG Browser Security Toolbar, and Avira WebGuard to enhance its security.

Get help from online computer technical support to fix the security problems with your browser and computer.

Sense Everything
Suppose you’re opening the Website of your bank but suddenly you diverted back to a similar Website asking for complete credit card details with CVV number even without login. In this case, either you have typed a wrong URL or your browser is infected to divert you to an unsafe Website.

Check each and every character you’ve typed in the Web browser before visiting a Website. The phishing Websites are those which shows you the exact snippet of the targeted site with a similar name. Such as go0gle.com is phishing whereas Google.com is good. The only difference is that second O letter has been replaced with 0 (Zero).

You can also browse http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org to check the list of spamming and phishing Websites. The installed secured browser add-ons will also alarm you about an unsecured URL.

If your Web browser is redirecting you regularly to phishing sites then subscribe with online spyware removal support.

We hope that above tips will help you to be safe from online threats. Share your experience of virus threats or unsecured Websites with us and other users.

Explaining the Best Passwords for your accounts

Posted on 02:09 by Unknown
In this online world, each and every service is connected with an account provided by the relevant service provider. Not only you have to create a user in your Windows OS but you also have to create user accounts with online services like Online Banking, ISP, Software supplier, Antivirus, etc. Mostly the Username or User ID is easy to remember and is email address in most cases whereas the password should be strong enough to sustain in this modern age, where hacking is not a nightmare thing. In this write up, we will sum up some common conventions helping you to decide a right password for your Windows user or any other online account.

First, you should avoid using any kind of automatic password generator. Nobody knows who have developed these programs to get the automatic mixture of alphanumeric and special characters. May be some hackers have created them and providing as a free service or who knows if the hackers have already cracked it. Using the automatic tools to generate password means you are going to have a totally unsecure account, so avoid using it. Do you need expert guidance in creating passwords? Then call Online Technical Support team at SupportMart.

Your password should be a mixture of alphabets, numbers, and special characters. You can follow some manual mechanism to create these passwords, e.g. inserting your favorite numbers in your pet’s name such as t1o2m34. Make sure not to use your name, your spouse name, or any other well known phrase related to your identity. Also you should avoid the common dates of your life such as date of birth, date of marriage, or date of getting bachelors degree. If you need expert suggestion to create the passwords then you can contact Online Computer Support. Some good passwords are illustrated below:

•    R$a&ts$dg24.90
•    Rg#sewt(&ded)
•    A,m.b$c#d%d
•    K&i12n.$322g

Please do not use them as these are already illustrated publicly. You can create a password of any length from 8 characters to 30 characters but you should remember them. If you lost the password of your Windows user then you can contact Online Technical Support.

Some Websites have a pre-defined policy to describe which type of passwords can be used with them. Remember to read the password policy of the Website to know the necessary precautions like permitted special characters, minimum password length etc. In addition, you’re advised to create security questions in order to recover the password when you forgot it. Contact Online Computer support in case when you are not able to restore your password.

If you are using Online Internet Banking or Credit Card then make sure to change its login and transaction password twice in a month. Please avoid using already used credentials while changing passwords for online banking.

You should avoid using the public hotspots, cyber café, or shared computers in office to access your bank account. Always access the Internet banking or credit card facilities only at your own personal computers. If your bank offers virtual keyboard for login then its usage will save your keyboard hits from recording in any malware program running in the background. If you are facing any problem in creating any account or setting its password then you can reach Online Computer Support.
